Throwing Light

E032: Broke and Optimistic

Episode Summary

We owe $335,000 in student loans. This is how we're dealing with it. Check out the show notes for loads of resources that have helped me on this journey.

Episode Notes

I thought it'd be good to share way too much right out the gate of season two.

I mean, if you're a new listener, you gotta know what you're getting into, right?

This episode is not overtly spiritual. It doesn't hit you over the head with abundance mindset. But then again, we owe $335,000 in student loan debt and I'm still smiling, so maybe it does.

A correction and a couple of notes—

I say with confidence that Dr. Phil asks "who's the doctor?" when confronted with someone who has over $150,000 in student loans. But that is not so! It's Dave Ramsey who says that. That was a strange Freudian slip. And in fact, I wasn't talking about Dr. Phil at all. But when you think about it, they're kind of the same person.

When talking about our rent, I accidentally say we owe $6,000 a month. I do correct that one! And laugh hysterically in the process. Paying $2,000 a month in rent is quite steep, but it could be worse, right?

Listed below is the bounty of resources I mention in this episode. So grateful for the feedback and encouragement I've received since releasing this episode last week. Truly grateful for the Throwing Light tribe.
